We moved to Belfast over 12 years ago, and we've been having fun on our 17 acres ever since. Our little homestead is a pretty diverse place, with veggie and perennial gardens, low-bush blueberries, fruit trees, grapes, raspberries, blackberries, beach plums and elderberries. One of our favorite things is to walk around watching the honeybees and other pollinators at work.
Aidan was a participant in MOFGA's (Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association) 2-year Journeyperson Training Program. He previously worked at a large garden center and nursery in Southern Maine. He loves propagating and growing unusual fruits. Misty grew up gardening and helping her family preserve lots of veggies for winter. She has a particular love for growing perennial herbs. She worked at Nautilus Seafood & Grill in Belfast for many years, and with the Belfast Free Library's All of Belfast: Climate Dialogues project; currently she is with the Belfast Senior College. The fun we have growing has turned into a small nursery business. We're happy to share our love of plants with you! |
